What a minute actually costs at the entry tier

For vendors whose entry plan bundles a stated number of minutes, dividing price by allowance gives the honest per-minute rate of getting started. AI entry plans work out between $0.20 and $0.49 a minute (median $0.41). Human services run $1.75 to $5.00 (median $3.33). That per-minute gap, not the monthly sticker, is where the real cost difference lives; the full mechanics are in AI against human answering, priced side by side.

The transparency problem, named

4 vendors publish no usable pricing at all: Simple Phones, Nexa, Synthflow, Podium AI Employee. Among vendors who do publish plans with minute allowances, 3 still do not publish what happens past the allowance: Rosie, Ruby, Abby Connect. The first minute over the plan is priced only after you are a customer. The full breakdown per vendor sits in the pricing table and in the "published but not comparable" section there.
