This is worth stating plainly rather than dramatically: Synthflow has not done anything wrong. Moving upmarket is a normal decision, and for a large contact centre deployment a five-figure annual contract can be entirely reasonable. The problem is purely one of stale information. Any comparison article still listing Synthflow at $29 a month is sending small businesses to a vendor that no longer sells to them.

How each figure is calculated
- Bland AI: the Start plan has no platform fee, so 1,000 minutes at $0.14 is $140. The Build plan is $299 plus 1,000 at $0.12, or $419, so the free tier is cheaper at this volume.
- Rosie: the Scale plan covers 1,000 minutes for $149 outright. Rosie publishes no overage rate, so buying the plan that covers your minutes is the only predictable route.
- Answrr: the Growth plan is $199 for 750 minutes (12.5 hours), plus 250 minutes at $0.22, which is $254. Their Pro plan at $449 covers 2,000 minutes (33 hours) outright but costs more at this volume.
- Retell AI: two numbers, and the gap between them is the point. The advertised $0.07 a minute is the cheapest possible component mix, giving $80 including the $10 phone number. A realistic build with a good voice and a capable model runs $0.255 a minute, giving $265. That is 3.6 times the headline.

Synthflow was a platform: you built the agent. Two of the alternatives are the same kind of thing, and both have a headline number that needs reading carefully.

Bland is the only one of the three quoting a rate that survives contact with a real deployment, which is why it heads the comparison above. Be careful with their platform fee, though: the Build plan costs $299 a month to save $0.02 a minute, so it only pays for itself above 14,950 minutes a month. Below that, the free Start plan is cheaper. Vapi has no page on this site because it publishes only one plan with a real price, which is not enough to compare honestly.
